The technique of night photography really interests me. I think pictures that are taken at night look intriguing and bright. They have a little bit of a mysterious side as well. The picture on the left was taken by Gerrit Wenz, and Jose Maria Cuellar took the picture on the right. I love the how the light in the pictures come from random sources, and not the sun or just one lamp. The textures they captured are beautiful and they both capture night photography at it's finest.
For this picture, we had to find a painting on the internet that we liked, and that we could recreate into a picture. I chose this picture because I think it looks really cool, and my cousin is a dancer so I thought it would be perfect! It took a few shots because a lot of them were blurry, but I think with the added color, it turned out really well!
For this assignment, we had to find things around the school that unknowingly showed the letters in our name. We could either choose our first or last name, and I decided to do my first! For me, the "y" was the hardest one to find, but I thought it was really clever when I found it. It is made up of two boards hanging from a string that hold up artwork in our library. I thought this assignment was really fun because it made you be creative and look outside of the box for what you needed!
With so many pictures to choose from, it was hard to just pick one! This picture was taken by Rachel Larson. I love how she got so close to the tree branch and captured sharp detail! The bright color makes it really interesting, and the rule of thirds caught my eye right away.
I love this picture mostly because baby pictures are one of my favorites! This picture was taken by Heidi who owns Glimpse Photography in Spokane, WA. I like the way she used subtle colors and mainly focused on the newborn. The picture is in great detail and she caught a great expression on the newborns face. Someday, I hope to take pictures like this of my own children!
I really like this picture by Chirstopher Doherty because it shows nature and uses a lot of color. The picture shows two sides, above and below water and captures great detail. This picture gives off a sense of freedom and warmth and it seems as though the turtle is carefree. These are the kinds of pictures that I would love to take on my own! ContrastThis picture taken of my shoes is my favorite so far this year. We were given the challenge to go take a picture showing contrast, and right away I though my boots would be perfect. I really enjoyed this challenge because you can use black and white, or one color against another. With the boots and the white cement, the picture turned out just the way I wanted it.
